We do this by developing practical solutions to everyday challenges to create exciting lifetime possibilities by providing comprehensive training and easy access to the world’s information.
Our People
More than 600 skilled and dedicated staff make this level of service possible, as do the contribution in time and experience of nearly 4,000 volunteers.
To ensure that our services meet the needs of our clients Our Chief Executive Officer and senior management team engage with clients through surveys and focus groups. Our direction is guided by client representatives on the Board and Client Representative Council.
Our Services and Locations
Most of our services are given free-of-charge, irrespective of whether they are provided in the clients’ home or through one of our more than 30 service centres throughout NSW, the ACT and Victoria.
We also work to promote the rights of Australians who are blind or vision impaired through our policy and advocacy service in a variety of ways such as commenting on government policy.
Fundraising
It costs more than $60 million each year to deliver our services to people who are blind, vision impaired. We rely on the generosity of people in the community who share our vision to raise approximately 60 percent of these funds.
We are dedicated to remaining at the forefront of services for people with blindness and vision impairment so that all Australians, now and in the future, will be enabled to access and fully participate in every part of life they choose.
